FILAMENT PRINTING

BUILD USEFUL FORMS, LAYER BY LAYER.

FDM builds a part by depositing filament in layers. FDM and large-format FDM printing are available from our Manchester workshop. Explain the intended use and the features that matter before choosing the material or print arrangement.

Name the visible face.

In a repeated batch, write which face should take visual priority and whether the same priority applies to every variant. Supported surfaces can have a different texture from other faces; identify acceptable support-contact areas as a discussion point. Prusa: surfaces above supports.

Separate a design change from a print choice.

A longer slot is a geometry change. Orientation is a print-planning choice. Keep both clear in the brief: name the revision, explain the use, and identify the face that will be seen. Orientation can affect the mechanical behaviour of an FDM part, so appearance alone should not decide it. Prusa: modelling for 3D printing.

Give the model context.

Include overall dimensions and units, quantity per revision, intended handling, temperature/exposure requirements and any mating parts. Choose from the available options in the instant quote form or contact us about requirements needing discussion.
