DETAIL & SURFACE

MAKE ROOM FOR THE FINE DETAIL.

Resin printing is available at our Manchester workshop. For a detailed model or a set of small variants, identify which features must remain clear and which surfaces will be seen.

Keep identity visible in the brief.

Small differences can be easy to overlook in a group of similar models. Give each configuration a distinct file name and a quantity. If you want an identifier added to the part itself, include that as a CAD requirement; a file name does not create an embossed mark.

Mark the surface priorities.

For SLA-style resin printing, orientation and support touchpoints can affect important faces. Mark cosmetic surfaces and interfaces that should be considered when planning support placement. The actual strategy depends on the model and process. Formlabs: model orientation.

Confirm the actual material and finish.

“Resin” covers different formulations. Describe handling, exposure, fine features and any required performance so the available grade and finishing requirements can be discussed. General manufacturer guidance does not identify our equipment or guarantee an outcome for your model.
